On Friday, April 7 the Invacare Interior Design team attended the grand opening of the Cottages of Lake St. Louis, Missouri’s first GREEN HOUSE PROJECT® model.
The Invacare Interior Design team had the privilege to be involved from the ground up for this project, providing renderings, project management, and finish, furniture and color specifications, while working closely with the vision and preferences of the Cottages of Lake St. Louis team.
“This project was particularly unique and exciting to develop,” Jacki Zumsteg, Director of Interior Design at Invacare Interior Design said. “Small touches such as allowing the owner’s grandchildren help choose color schemes and fabric selections really put a personal and homey touch on the Cottages.”
The grand opening featured a ribbon cutting ceremony and allowed nurses and partners from different area hospitals as well as the local community and state officials the opportunity to see the beauty of the facility.
“The common phrase we heard was, ‘I could live here,’” Zumsteg said. “People of all ages loved that you walk in and feel welcome. It’s not cold or sterile feeling.”
Special thanks to Karen Schiller, IID interior designer, and Karen Kemper, IID project coordinator, for the cottages who, using their design experience, worked hands on with the Cottages team to make this vision a reality. Additional thanks to Kris Koepp, IID installation lead, and Lewis Wilkerson, IID operational support supervisor, for making this process run smoothly!
